Notecard: Chappelle du monastère de Saint-Paul du Mausole/Chapel

On the grounds of an historic hospital in the south of France, renowned for its treatment of Vincent van Gogh, there is a small, simple chapel. Row after row of similar, but not identical, rush-seated chairs fill the space like lifelong neighbors gathering to discuss the weather. The rich colors of the unassuming stained-glass windows spill over the stone floor and woven rushes--delicately tinting them in the evening light.
